Tom Woodward is the Pennsylvania state president and Philadelphia market president at Bank of America responsible for the bank’s business, civic and philanthropic leadership throughout Pennsylvania, with a focus on the Philadelphia market.
Prior to Bank of America, Tom spent 25 years in various commercial credit and client management activities with Wachovia Bank and its Philadelphia-based predecessors in various commercial credit and client management roles focusing on Middle Market, Large Corporate, and Institutional relationships throughout the greater Philadelphia region.
During 2002 and 2003, Tom took a break from commercial banking and accepted an appointment with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to serve as its Chief Operating Officer during that organization’s transitional period immediately following its merger with the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies. In that role, Tom helped to coordinate and implement the various merger activities for the two organizations, including restructuring of staff and integration of the Balch facilities and its collections. Upon completion of the merger integration, he returned to Wachovia Bank to manage the bank’s Suburban Philadelphia commercial credit portfolio.
As Market President for Bank of America, Woodward provides business, civic and philanthropic leadership for the Bank throughout Pennsylvania, with a focus on the greater Philadelphia market.
Woodward serves as Secretary of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and is also on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Select Greater Philadelphia / CEO Council for Growth, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and Philadelphia’s Committee of Seventy. Tom additionally serves in a corporate advisory capacity for the National Constitution Center, the Eisenhower Fellowships, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
