Amy Murphy is the co-founder and Managing Director of the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia.  Ms. Murphy is fiscally responsible for a budget that has grown from $70,000 to $4.3 million annually.  In addition, she manages the theatre’s daily operations including all marketing and fundraising operations, as well as the Arden Professional Apprentice program.   In 1998, Amy led a $5 million capital campaign for the creation of their 2-theatre complex.  The Arden has received numerous awards and citations, including 52 awards and 247 nominations from the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia’s Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, the most awards of any theatre company in Greater Philadelphia. 

Ms. Murphy completed the Executive Program for Non Profit Leaders- Arts, a joint program of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Center for Social Innovation and National Arts Strategies in 2005.  She currently serves on the Local Advisory Committee for the Non-Profit Finance Fund and the Development Committee of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.  Ms. Murphy has served on panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Jersey State Arts Council, Arts & Humanities Arts Council of Montgomery County and Theatre Communications Group.  Amy was named a Hepburn Fellow 2008-9 by the Katherine Houghton Hepburn Center at Bryn Mawr College.
