Karen A. Simmons
Karen Simmons is a Board Member of the Greater Brandywine Cultural Alliance, which promotes regional collaborative audience development initiatives and public/private arts and culture partnerships.
Ms. Simmons is also the President/CEO of the Chester County Community Foundation, which is the fiscal agent for the Greater Brandywine Cultural Alliance, steering grassroots organizing campaigns, fostering regional planning processes, and helping strengthen community-based arts/business partnership initiatives in the towns and boroughs throughout Chester County. The Community Foundation works with families to establish endowed legacy funds, and helps focus each family's philanthropic vision, values and goals and handles the investments, finance, reporting and legal issues related to endowed legacy philanthropy.
Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Ms. Simmons served for 15 years at LaSalle University's Nonprofit Center in Philadelphia, serving as Executive Director for over a decade. Prior to this, she managed Dance Conduit and served as a Public Relations Associate at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and the New York City Ballet.
