Karim Olaechea

Karim Olaechea joined the Cultural Alliance in 2011 and manages the promotion and messaging of the Cultural Alliance’s activities to the media and other key stakeholders, as well as working closely with advocacy and policy staff in communicating with elected officials. Karim has a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Karim managed media outreach for EarthRights International, a human rights and environmental advocacy organization; developed and implemented the media and press strategy for a Philadelphia-wide citizen-run referendum opposing casino development along that city's Delaware riverfront; and, in 2003, traveled to Peru to run a press strategy that helped reverse public opinion and secure the release of a controversial political prisoner from the infamous Castro prison. Karim started his career at The Campaign Group, a political communications firm, working on advertising campaigns for political candidates.
