What Are The Cultural Economic Development Grants?
The thriving arts and culture industry in southeastern Pennsylvania is a vital component of our regional economy. Arts and culture programming helps the area attract new companies and retain workers. The regions wide variety of artistic and cultural offerings also strengthens our appeal to tourists around the globe. In addition, arts and culture organizations provide a substantial employment and tax base, and often renovate abandoned properties or construct new buildings, providing needed revitalization and new contributions to our regional landscape.
Recognizing the tremendous impact of the arts and culture industry on our regions economy, the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) is investing in arts and culture in the Greater Philadelphia region. DRPA Cultural Economic Development Grants are provided to nonprofit arts and culture, tourism, and other community-based organizations in support of projects demonstrating economic impact and development in the five-county region of southeastern Pennsylvania. The grant awards are funded by DRPA, with administrative support provided by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
