The arts provide a focal point for communities. Artists perform and exhibit their work in schools, libraries, and community centers. They work in hospitals, social service agencies, and municipal economic development projects. While these collaborative efforts between artists and community organizations are invaluable to their host communities, they are often underfunded. To address this funding gap, the Cultural Alliance has begun to administer two new grant programs in the five-county Philadelphia region – The Delaware River Port Authority’s Cultural Economic Development Grant Program and the 5-County Arts Fund.
