PNC launches program to fund regional arts

(March 11, 2009)-A new $5 million program of regional arts giving by PNC Foundation is to be announced today, doubling the foundation's commitment to the visual and performing arts in the region....
Thomas Kaiden, chief operating officer of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, said the new program was welcome news during the current economic downturn.
"Certainly the direction they're taking with the program is exciting to us," Kaiden said. "At a time when everyone is talking shrinking contributions and shrinking philanthropy, they're making an investment. It's pretty exciting."
