Claymobile Teaching Artist Assistant

Teaching Assistant-About the Position:
Claymobile Teaching Assistants are responsible for assisting Teaching Artists during a Claymobile residency, workshop, or event. Duties include gathering and loading supplies for the class into the Claymobile van, organizing supplies while at the site, instructing and aiding students one-on-one, and cleaning up/loading supplies back into the van at the end of class.  A qualified candidate will be comfortable working with students of all ages from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and will be interested in the arts and education.

In general, Claymobile residencies run from 6 to 12 weeks. Teaching Assistants are paid 3 hours per class.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in team environment
  • Enjoys teaching children and adults from a wide range in age, socio-economic backgrounds, and abilities. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for several hours. 
  • Experience and/or education in ceramics, art education, or other visual arts is ideal, but not required
  • Updated Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Record Check, and FBI Clearances (can be completed after hiring). Mandated Reporter training and additional clearances may be required depending on partner site requirements. 
  • Flexible availability. Claymobile programming runs every day of the week and at a variety of times depending on our partner site needs.
