"Discover Philadelphia" Content Submission & Application Form

Thank you for your interest in the “Discover Philadelphia” program. This program is a collaboration between Ovation, the only television channel dedicated to art and contemporary culture; the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy.

Ovation, to celebrate its launch on the Comcast network in Greater Philadelphia, is offering over $500,000 in interstitial and public service announcements for the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Community. Any nonprofit arts and cultural organization in Greater Philadelphia is eligible to apply.

Groups can apply for two promotional opportunities: inclusion in thematic interstitial spots produced by Ovation and/or the opportunity to submit broadcast ready :30 second PSA's.

The interstitial spots will be developed under the following themes, subject to change:

  • Public Art
  • History, Science & Historic Sites
  • Visual Arts
  • Festivals
  • Theatre/Dance
  • Music

All applicants are also eligible to submit completed broadcast-ready :30 PSA’s for ROS inclusion on the Ovation channel.

Submitted content will be reviewed by a panel comprised of representatives from the partner agencies.

The deadline to apply for this program is Thursday, May 6, 2010. Final decisions will be announced Thursday, June 3, 2010. Both Interstitials and organizational PSA's will begin airing in July 2010.

Description of your organization’s mission, programs, how many served through audience, attendees, members and/or educational programs. [500 word limit]

G. FOR GRANTEES ONLY: If you are selected to receive a media sponsorship award, you will be required to complete a Release Form and return 2 copies to Ovation; the release will be countersigned and a completely executed agreement will be returned to you.

Please submit only a DVD or VHS screening copy of your clips or completed PSA for review. Do not send your original masters or materials. Ultimate acceptance of imagery and/or content solely at the discretion of Ovation TV. If you are selected for inclusion we will request master quality video at that time.
