Penn Museum Launches New Free Program for 7th Graders

On Tuesday, October 21, the Penn Museum announced a new partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), and Mastery Charter Schools.

Grant Opportunity: Weinberg Family Internship Fund

The Weinberg Family Internship Fund is a Donor-Advised Fund of The Philadelphia Foundation. The Fund is offering grants to support nonprofit organizations to provide internship stipends to qualified undergraduate and/or graduate college students. The intent is to provide support for students who might otherwise need to seek paid employment in another industry.

Pennsylvania Governor’s Arts Awards 2014

Get ready for a day that honors the arts! The Pennsylvania Governor’s Arts Awards return this Sunday, September 28 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and this year’s Distinguished Arts Award will be given to Philadelphia composer, Jennifer Higdon! will feature a special exhibit of Indiana area award-winning youth art. The artwork will be featured as part of the Governor’s Arts Awards.

Submit Your Student Programs to the School District of Philadelphia Partnership Census

The Cultural Alliance is partnering with the Office of Strategic Partnerships at the School District of Philadelphia to make sure that all cultural organizations that currently serve Philadelphia schoolchildren are counted in the Office's Partnerships Census.


Lil' Filmmakers is a West Philly based non-profit media and performing arts organization geared to train youth and teens to conceive, develop and produce movies. The mission of the organization is to transform young people into artists, thinkers, and socially responsible community leaders.

The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy Celebrates A+ Art Exhibit!

This past Thursday, September 18, the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) partnered with the Philadelphia School District and Blick Art Materials to host its fall exhibition, A+ Art in the Art Gallery at City Hall. As a result of this partnership, During the event Blick Art Materials will donate $15,000 worth of gift cards to the 23 participating schools to purchase materials for their art classes!


In honor of International Peace Day, Sonia Sanchez, famed poet, playwright, and activist, Sonia Sanchez is hosting Footprints of Peace, a celebration of peace to be held this Sunday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Penn Museum.
