Knight News Challenge (powered by the Knight Foundation) is calling for feedback on how to build futures and improve communities. They received over 600 entries and now invite YOU to look through submissions and offer feedback, ideas, and questions.

Mural Arts Month Continues with muraLAB: a Live, TED-Inspired Event

Philadelphia is home to one of the world's largest collections of murals and tonight, as Mural Arts Month continues, artists and mural-enthusiasts from around the city will gather for a TED-inspired event to discuss the challenges plaguing our cities and how public art can address the challenges and improve the landscape of our city.

Take Part in a Community Paint Day with Mural Arts and Village of Arts and Humanities

On Sunday, October 12 from 2-4pm the Village of Arts and Humanities and the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program will join forces to restore the Village's Ile-Ife Guardian Mural and they are inviting the whole community to come and help bring this iconic mural back to life!

Philly Photo Day is Tomorrow!

On October 10, the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC) in partnership with PNC Arts Alive, will hold the fifth annual Philly Photo Day and everyone is invited to snap a pic of their favorite spot in Philly on that day. There is only one restriction, the picture must be taken on October 10 in Philadelphia.

Local Artist Residency: Neighborhood Time Exchange

The Neighborhood Time Exchange: West Philadelphia Artist Residency is a residency program presented by the Canada-based Broken City Lab, People's Emergency Center (PEC), the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, and the Office of Arts Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE). They are looking for local artists to take part in this unique cultural project integrating civil engagement and art, and you can be part of the process!

Come Out for 2nd Friday’s on Lancaster Ave.

People’s Emergency Center and community partners invite you to experience art, live music, food and much more during 2nd Fridays on Lancaster Avenue. Events take place in multiple locations on the avenue and nearby, 5:00 – 8:00PM.

Pennsylvania Governor’s Arts Awards 2014

Get ready for a day that honors the arts! The Pennsylvania Governor’s Arts Awards return this Sunday, September 28 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and this year’s Distinguished Arts Award will be given to Philadelphia composer, Jennifer Higdon! will feature a special exhibit of Indiana area award-winning youth art. The artwork will be featured as part of the Governor’s Arts Awards.
