On November 20, R. Andrew Swinney, President of The Philadelphia Foundation, announced that he will be retiring from the organization on June 30, 2015.

Nominate a City Employee for a Richardson Dilworth Award

In 2011, Mayor Nutter established the Richardson Dilworth Award for Distinguished Public Service in Philadelphia to recognize the contributions of "outstanding, current, full-time, executive branch public employees whose work exemplifies excellence in public service." Past winners have included Barbara Ash, John Elfrey and Carlton Williams.

This year, there are two additonal award categories, honoring "Innovation in Government" and "Excellence in Public Service."

Penn Museum Launches New Free Program for 7th Graders

On Tuesday, October 21, the Penn Museum announced a new partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), and Mastery Charter Schools.

Host a Philly Fellow

Philly Fellows is now seeking new host agencies for their 2015-2016 fellowships. Interested non-profits must submit an LOI outlining their potential projects to Philly Fellows staff by Friday, October 24th.

Fellows are graduating college seniors with past experience in service and leadership positions. For 2014-2015, 120 students applied for 15 fellowship slots, a competitive process that ensures that only top candidates in terms of academics, communication skills, and experience are placed within hosting agencies.
