Phillyfunguide's Independence Starts Here Cultural Calendar was featured during a workshop session at the 2011 Leadership Exchange in Arts & Disability (LEAD) in Louisville, KY, last month. Organized by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, LEAD is the nation's preeminent annual gathering of arts leaders and other professionals working to improve access to the arts for seniors and people with disabilities.

Philadelphia to hold final public forums for city's comprehensive strategic plan, "Philadelphia 2035"

The City of Philadelphia will be holding public forums to discuss their long term strategic plan for the city, Philadelphia 2035, on April 21 and April 26. Philadelphia 2035 is a 25 year comprehensive plan for the city of constructed by the Philadelphia City Planning Commission with input from a wide array of City and associated agencies.

Ooh la la! Come visit us at the PIFA Street Fair on Saturday, April 30th. The Avenue of the Arts will be transformed into a Parisian festival, and Cultural Alliance staff will become the cast of L’Alliance Culturelle at our table on the west side of Broad Street between Walnut and Locust. Look for our berets, striped shirts and distinctive mustaches as we reach out from our booth to capture photos of festival goers extolling whythey love the arts.
