Arts & culture has long been credited with sparking neighborhood change in both positive and negative ways. Artists can bring vibrancy to a neighborhood that has been forgotten and the attention that their work can draw can result neighborhood improvements that drive higher property values, enhanced amenities and lower crime rates.However, in some cases this type of change is credited with displacing the longtime residents and businesses. This is a difficult balance to strike. We will take 50 advocates from Southeastern Pennsylvania to Harrisburg to meet with their elected officials and discuss the importance of arts education in the Commonwealth.
