2017 Bloomberg Arts Summer Internship Program Underway in Philadelphia!

For the third year, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and Philadelphia Youth Network’s WorkReady division are partnering with Bloomberg Philanthropies to bring the Bloomberg Arts Internship program to Philadelphia.

Fifty rising high school seniors from Philadelphia public high schools were selected to work at 26 of Philadelphia’s leading cultural institutions and organizations from July 10 through August 18.

Through real internship experiences at worksites, professional development training sessions, writing workshops and visits to Philadelphia’s cultural institutions, the Bloomberg Arts Internship is designed to help students strengthen their professional skills, encourage exposure to Philadelphia’s arts and culture infrastructure and prepare interns for the intense college application process just around the corner.

“Through our arts internship program, we’re working to change how the next generation of employees and leaders perceive cultural institutions’ contributions to a city’s workforce, economy, and identity,” said Patricia E. Harris, CEO of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
