Last Thursday, leaders of Philadelphia business and cultural organizations joined with elected officials Thursday to oppose President Donald Trump's plan to eliminate national arts and heritage agencies. Speakers included Art-Reach’s John Orr, Councilmen Kenyatta Johnson and Al Taubenberger, Senator Vincent Hughes, and more. African American Museum in Philadelphia’s Patricia Wilson Aden encouraged Philadelphia's arts sector to become activists, under the hashtag #SaveTheArts.

At a time when arts funding is under fire, consider this a fun evening out to show your support for the arts in Philadelphia. Mingle and network with like-minded arts leaders and artists, as well as people working in city offices.

PA Arts Advocacy Day April 25, 2017

Do you support a sustainable funding source for statewide arts and culture?  Join us in Harrisburg on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 for Pennsylvania Arts & Culture Advocacy Day.  This is your opportunity to meet with your legislators to share your priorities for arts and culture in the Commonwealth.  The day kicks off with a meeting of the PA Legislative Arts & Culture Caucus at 9 a.m. and a press event follows in the Main Rotunda at 11 a.m.  Culminating events will be meetings with your members of the PA General Assembly.
