Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance

Today is the Day! Join us as we #SavePHLArts

Today is Philadelphia Arts Advocacy Day and we need you to help us #SavePHLArts! Last year, our combined efforts helped us get an additional $1.3M in funding for the Cultural Fund and now we have to fight to keep this funding in the budget for next year. We want to make sure that the Mayor, our city council members, the media and all of Philadelphia know the importance of arts & culture to this region and why it is a smart investment to make.

Here is how you can get involved today:

  • Join us at noon as we take over City Hall to #SavePHLArts during Philadelphia Arts Advocacy Day. We will have signs and letters for you to give to council members to advocate for the Cultural Fund. Click here to attend.
  • Use #SavePHLArts to tweet messages of support and let City Council (@PHLCouncil) and Council President Clarke (@Darrell_Clarke) know why arts & culture is important for Philadelphia! Let's flood Twitter with arts advocacy messages tomorrow and make #SavePHLArts trend!
  • Contact your city council members and tell them to #SavePHILArts! Click here for a pre-written message, which you can customize with your own thoughts on how arts & culture impacts Philadelphia neighborhoods and residents.

Don't live in Philadelphia? Send your own email to Council President Clarke at darrell.clarke@phila.gov and let him know the arts are what bring you (and your dollars!) into the city

Check out the GroundSwell blog for more information and sample #SavePHLArts tweets you can use.

Thanks for all of your support
