Call for Artists – Art in City Hall’s “All That’s Jazz” Exhibition

A nor’easter may be on its way, but before you know it spring will arrive and it will once again be Jazz Appreciation Month in Philadelphia! The City of Philadelphia Office of Arts Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) is starting to prepare for this extravaganza and is asking for artist submissions to be displayed in City Hall.

Every April, the City of Philadelphia celebrates the city’s extraordinary jazz heritage by highlighting the jazz scene and encouraging people of all ages to participate and support a variety of jazz programs. Currently, the OACCE is looking for artwork   to hang on the walls of City Hall during the upcoming “All That’s Jazz” exhibition. All artists, working in any medium, whose works have been inspired, motivated or influenced by the idiom of jazz music, are invited to submit their work.

Artistic forms are not limited to the use of traditional materials or obvious musical symbolisms, but should reflect the essence of the spirit of the jazz idiom, extending well into the depths of imaginative interpretation. The deadline for submission is February 27, 2014 at 4PM.
