New Exhibit on the Warren Commission & JFK Assassination at Phila. U

A new exhibition, “Single Bullet: Arlen Specter & the Warren Commission Investigation of the JFK Assassination,” will open Oct. 21, 2013, and run through April 11, 2014, at the Paul J. Gutman Library at Philadelphia University. A preview is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m., by reservation only. To make your reservation, email spectercenter@philau.edu.

Howard P. Willens, former Warren Commission staff member and author of the new book History Will Prove Us Right: Inside the Warren Commission’s Investigation into the Assassination of John F. Kennedy, will speak at the preview.

Single Bullet, the first exhibition of the Arlen Specter Center for Public Policy at Philadelphia University, offers viewers an opportunity to re-examine the evidence and conclusions of the Warren Commission.  The exhibit features the work of Philadelphia University architecture, graphic design and law and society students and faculty members.  One highlight is a life-size model of the limousine that President Kennedy was riding in when he was shot, which visitors will be able to sit in to better understand the Commission’s findings.

The exhibit, sponsored by PNC and coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the assassination, will offer insights into former Sen. Arlen Specter’s contributions to the Warren Commission, with special focus on its single-bullet conclusion and the associated controversy that continues to this day.

The exhibit is free and open to the public weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by special arrangement.  Philadelphia University is located at 4201 Henry Ave., Philadelphia.  For more information, contact spectercenter@philau.edu.
