Nominate Your Neighborhood Garden for the PHS Community Greening Award!Do you take pride in your neighborhood park or community garden? You have until July 15th to nominate it for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's 2013 Community Greening Award! If you or someone you know used their green thumb to "Do Something Good for a Change," submit a nomination! All sorts of sites are eligible, from gardens and beautification projects to storm water runoff management and tree planting initiatives. Volunteer judges will evaluate nominated sites in July and August, and the winners will be honored at receptions at PHS sites in Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh this fall. Past winners include the YWCA Junior Gardeneres Vegetable Garden in Harrisburg, Traffic Medians of King of Prussia and Roberto's Trattoria in Philadelphia.
