Programs Intern

The City of Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) is seeking a Programs Intern to support the implementation initiatives that link Philadelphians to cultural resources and opportunities. This is an opportunity for hands-on experience working on various projects and an introduction to the administration of Philadelphia’s Local Arts Agency. The Programs Intern will provide support in the development of activities related to OACCE’s arts education and capacity building and community arts initiatives including but not limited to Performances in Public Spaces, Culture in Neighborhoods, Jazz Appreciation Month, and Creative Industry programming.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Position: Stipend available

Hours: 20 hours per week time but days and hours are negotiable.

Dates: September through December with the possibility of extending through the school year.

 

Skills needed:

  • Experience in an office setting
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Completion of a minimum of 2 years of college, pursuing a related BA/BS degree

  • Pro-active, self-directed, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm and initiative to take on new projects
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong inter-personal, email, and phone skills
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Interest in and/or knowledge of the arts and culture field or creative business sector as it pertains to engaging and enhancing communities
