Bloomberg Arts Internship Mentors -- Paid College Internship OpportunityPROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Bloomberg Arts Mentors program is a paid summer internship for college students with an interest in Philadelphia’s arts and culture sector, building pathways to higher education, and working with teens. This is an excellent opportunity for students who would like to gain experience combining the arts, and education. The Bloomberg Arts Internship places 50 incredible high school students with arts and culture organizations across the city for an immersive workplace experience. In addition, students visit culturally significant sites throughout Philadelphia and attend weekly professional development workshops. Mentors provide guidance to students throughout their internships, with worksite check-ins, support for site visits, and facilitating programming during professional development workshops. The ideal candidate for this program is creative, flexible, comfortable speaking in front of groups, and has experience creating and facilitating programs for teens. Experience as a camp counselor or after school program facilitator would be beneficial.
Job Responsibilities:
Mentors will work part time (approximately 30 hours per week) starting June 25, 2018 to August 10, 2018. Mandatory attendance: There will be no exceptions for vacations that conflict with following program dates:
Payment Structure Qualifications Program Eligibility Criminal and child abuse clearances required prior to start of program. Forms and necessary instructions on obtaining these will be provided.
