People Movers

OPERA PHILADELPHIA is presenting a piece called GLASS HANDEL as part of the upcoming Festival O18 and there is a unique performance opportunity to be involved!

In this piece, the audience is seated, but throughout the production, their seats are physically moved (with the audience still seated!) from station to station within the room by 24 "people movers." This action is done with a chair dolly that allows all 4 wheels to remain on the floor. We are looking for 24 people who are strong, have strong backs, are able to remember choreography/direction, and who are over 5’8” tall.

We are looking for people to take part in rehearsals on September 17, 18, and 19 - evening only. There will be a dress rehearsal on September 22 with performances on September 22, 23, and 30.

There will be an audition/casting on August 21 at 6pm. We are paying a fee of $330

Glass Handel includes choreography by Justin Peck, live painting with George Condo, and Anthony Roth Costanzo sings Handel and Glass. Throughout all the action the people movers are moving the audience in a piece of choreography that requires good memory, upper body strength and coordination! Costumes are being provided by Calvin Klein.
