Prospect Research Manager

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is seeking a Prospect Research Manager. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Prospect Research Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for pipeline growth and prospect data management. Using online databases and screening services as well as internal and external data sources, he/she will identify, research and evaluate major gifts prospects as well as compile, analyze and synthesize research through a variety of reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts regular wealth screening projects, proactive and reactive research, and accurate qualification of prospects to identify prospects and grow the major gifts and campaign pipelines to help meet operating and capital fundraising goals.
  • Understands institutional funding opportunities and priorities. Independently assesses prospective donor giving interests, capacity, and inclination; works collaboratively with colleagues in Development to assign fundraising targets and strategies.
  • Researches, compiles and maintains biographies for Development, Campaign and Nominating Committee meetings, as well as Development events.
  • Supports frontline fundraisers with prospect management tracking in Raiser's Edge. Runs and distributes weekly action reports.
  • Works with Vice President of Development to develop and manage gift officer portfolio assignments.
  • Implements and stays current about best practices in prospect research.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required,
  • Two plus years research/fundraising experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of fundraising and donor relations concepts, procedures and practices desired.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or other constituent relationship management software required.
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills required.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize requests from multiple people in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member; ability to set priorities and schedules and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
