Reporting directly to the Academy of Vocal Arts’ President and Artistic Director, the Marketing and Public Relations manager serves as the senior marketing specialist, managing the marketing department; he/she will establish and regularly update the ticketing-based earned income budget and will oversee all earned income-oriented marketing expenses; he/she will develop all associated marketing, communications, public relations strategies, and market research, and work collaboratively with the Academy of Vocal Arts’ staff and board, as well as with partnering local, national, and international artists and arts organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include conceptualizing, planning, and executing a fully integrated marketing and public relations program in support of AVA’s opera season and training program. Additionally, he/she will promote and advertise in recruiting potential Resident Artists.

Responsibilities include:
•    Seeking opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertisements
•    Managing PR budgets, deadlines, objectives, and schedules
•    Developing and producing high-quality, informative, and interesting press releases, press kits, and related materials; distributing press releases
•    Developing relationships with industry leaders or trendsetters through social media
•    Collaborate with internal teams and maintain open communication
•    Analyzing media coverage
•    Implementing brand strategy
•    Conceptualizing, planning, and executing a fully integrated marketing and public relations program in support of AVA’s opera season and training program
•    Managing digital media and social media
•    Maintaining website
•    Implementing direct mail design
•    Implementing single/subscription ticket pricing
•    Conducting market research
•    Working occasional nights and weekends
•    Managing the AVA Marketing committee and presenting to the AVA Board of Directors

Skills and Qualifications
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting and content creation skills.
•    Experience with Wordpress
•    Experience with Constant Contact or other email marketing service
•    Experience with social media marketing
•    Must be a strong writer
•    Experience with some event planning
•    Experience with Canva and/or Photoshop
•    Experience with Tessitura a plus
•    Must have good interpersonal skills
