Communications Manager - part timeCOMMUNICATIONS MANAGER The NLBID is seeking a part time communications manager who can also provide periodic administrative support. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, learns quickly, is highly observant and can see what needs to be done without a lot of direction. We’re a very small office with a big responsibility and our new communications manager will need be a flexible team player who really wants to see the organization be successful. For more information on what we do and who we are: www.explorenorthernliberties.org Anticipated hours per week: 25 General expectations: · Manage the BID’s social media accounts (FB, Twitter, Insta, LinkedIn) · Work closely with ED on setting short and long term strategic messaging · Work with PR partner on prioritizing message, taking or gathering photos, writing copy, conducting interviews · Develop press releases, pitches and proposals as needed · Craft narratives that advance the organization’s goals · Contribute to the design and distribute brochures, reports and newsletters · Write copy for website, social channels and more · Work with social media manager on timely launch of creative · Support events team in gathering content for promotions · Presentation prep for Executive Director · Attend monthly board meeting and take meeting minutes · Administrative assistance includes preparing bulk mailings, making bank deposits, and other errands as needed. Again, we’re a small outfit and there’s always something to do.
Specific key skills · Adept with common office software such as Word and Excel · Adept with Hootsuite and standard social media platforms (scheduling, creating ads) · Adobe Creative Suite preferred (InDesign, Photoshop) · Reasonable amount of tech acumen to trouble shoot computer issues (we don’t have an IT person) · Experience with Google Drive and Google apps · Wordpress content updating experience preferred
