Young Artists Workshop Faculty (App & Game Design for Grades 9-12)

Moore College of Art & Design’s Continuing Education department seeks faculty to teach App & Game Design for youth learners grades 9-12. This class will run on Saturdays from February 8th through April 11th from 9:00am – 12:00pm.

Course Description: Learn how to communicate your ideas for apps and games through the art of design. This course makes app and game design easy, fun and approachable, while helping you build art and technology skills that will last a lifetime.

Students of Moore College of Art & Design Continuing Education Department’s Young Artists Workshop (YAW) program explore their creativity in a beautiful campus setting. The program, founded in 1921, maintains a rich legacy of offering high-quality art and design educational experiences that are both fun and inspiring for youth and high school students in grades 3-12. All classes are studio based in Moore’s BFA classes and labs – unique, modern facilities with state of the art equipment and technology.

Successful candidates for this position are creative, organized individuals. They are dedicated to their craft and have demonstrated ability as incredible instructors with a history of engaging students. Applicants for this position will have an undergraduate, teaching certification, and/or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of history and techniques of the listed artistic disciplines;
  • Ability to manage a classroom of 5-15 students;
  • Ability to engage participants with multiple learning styles and varying artistic abilities;
  • Ability to create curriculum that includes week-by-week lesson plans, goals for expected course outcomes, and facilitate classroom exhibition support as needed on the final day of class;
  • Excellent classroom management skills, written and oral communication skills;
  • Willing to obtain PA Child Abuse Report, PA Criminal Background Check, and FBI Check upon interview;
  • 3 years teaching experience preferred, or equivalent professional experience
