Receptionist, Germantown Branch

Settlement is looking for a year-round receptionist at our Germantown Branch. The receptionist is the first to greet our students, parents, and faculty, and must provide exemplary customer service. They must also be able to direct patrons to appropriate areas of the branch and/or notify appropriate staff or faculty of visitor arrivals. Further, the receptionist maintains a working knowledge of branch offerings and programs and answers questions as needed.

Specific hours during the school year are Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 1 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.. Hours vary in the summer.

Other Specific responsibilities for this full-time position include:

  • Answer telephone promptly and professionally and route calls to the appropriate person. Also take and distribute messages as needed.
  • Process accurate tuition payments through the school’s management system and distribute receipts as needed.
  • Monitor tuition balances and send out past-due notices.
  • Manage appointment schedules and provide administrative assistance for Branch Director and Branch Coordinator.
  • Attend meetings, both on-site and off-site as requested.
  • Assist on other projects as assigned.

 Qualifications:

Candidates shall preferably have one to three years’ experience in a professional office setting. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and have the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively. They must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel. They should also have excellent reading, writing, and communication skills. Lastly, they must have the ability and willingness to work with and help people of all ages and backgrounds.
