After Schools Arts Program Teaching Assistant

After School Arts Program 2019 - Assistant Teacher - $12/hr 

Portside is seeking creative individuals to work with our After School Arts Program this school year! As the assistant art teacher you will work alongside one of our lead art teachers which will give you valuable classroom and teaching experience. Portside is looking for someone who has a strong work ethic, who has a love for teaching and who is confident in their abilities. 

Responsibilities  

Supervising children on school playground before pickup

Assist bus driver in picking up students from school 

Assisting with lesson prep and clean up 

Assisting children with their homework and art projects

Requirements 

Must have experience working with a large group of children or in a classroom environment 

Must be over 18 years of age 

Must have a background in visual arts or education

Must have a strong desire to work with children

Must be a happy, organized and self motivated person

Must have or acquire a child abuse clearance & criminal background check 

Available Teaching Hours:

October - June 12th

Monday-Tuesday 2:30- 6:00

*With occasional opportunities for extra hours*
