Gallery Administrator

Wexler Gallery seeks a part-time Gallery Administrator to play an integral role in the overall organization and maintenance of the gallery’s systems and operations. All candidates should be self-motivated, proactive workers with excellent organizational & problem-solving skills. Must be extremely detail-oriented with the ability to be flexible, calm, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Should possess strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable working closely with a small team and interacting with artists and gallery clientele.

The Gallery Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day administration including: database maintenance; artwork inventory; digital imaging & organization; maintaining updated contact lists for press, collectors, institutions; managing social media accounts based on gallery calendar; contributing to and editing gallery communications and digital content; responding to press requests; processing forms and contracts; assisting in the planning and logistics of gallery exhibitions, events, and art fairs; and office administration such as filing and ordering office supplies.

Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, basic database programs, Photoshop, digital imaging and Google Sketchup. Experience with Wordpress, and ArtBase a plus. Prior gallery or art world experience preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are imperative.

Gallery Administrator will work 24 hours per week, preferably Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am - 6pm.
