ACLAMO Summer Bridge Program at the Morris Arboretum
Summer 2020
The Morris Arboretum and ACLAMO Family Center are seeking educators to work in their summer enrichment program. Running Monday-Friday for 6 weeks (July 6 -Aug 15) from 8:00 to 2:00, ¡Explorar! educators will lead hands-on STEM activities, engaging crafts, games, and nature walks for English language learners ages 10-14.

This position requires creative thinking with an enthusiastic spirit, energy and strong leadership skills. Educators will be paired with a member of the ACLAMO staff and a counselor-in-training leading a group of 15 students.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with two-year’s classroom teaching experience
  • Commitment to full 6-weeks’ program
  • Strong background in science
  • Ability to produce a series of creative and engaging hands-on activities that will inspire summer learners in an informal setting
  • Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively with other program staff
  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Valid PA child abuse history clearance, fingerprinting, and PA State Police Criminal Record Check

Compensation: $17/hour. Additionally, educators will be paid for prep and reflection sessions, including 12 hours prior to the program in late May, and weekly and daily sessions during the day after the program begins.
