How You Will Contribute

The Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks part time workshop assistants to support a range of family programming. Responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of our public programs including greeting families, facilitating studio projects, and prepping supplies. The position runs from June 1, 2021 to September 6, 2021, working 20-25 hours per week.

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Welcome children and their grown-ups to the family program and encourage participation.
  • Introduce and facilitate art making activities, designed by Family Programs staff.
  • Maintain programming space—keeping it organized and following the established systems and procedures.
  • Prepare supplies and materials.
  • Under the guidance of the Coordinator of Family Programs, participate in limited opportunities for supervised gallery learning.

 

Your background and experience include:

  • Demonstrated ability to be lively, vibrant, charismatic working with visitors
  • Excellent judgment and visitor service skills
  • Ability to receive feedback and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Demonstrated positivity and engagement while at work

 

Note: as per the Pennsylvania Department of Education, any individual working with children in an educational setting will need to complete the requisite background checks prior to starting work.
