Director of Marketing and CommunicationsLocated in historic Old City Philadelphia, the National Liberty Museum (NLM) seeks a creative, energetic, and results-oriented Director of Marketing and Communications to lead all marketing communications activities for the institution. Reporting to the CEO, and overseeing a current staff of three, the Director serves as a key leadership team member. The ideal candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have the ability to excel under time constraints and in a variety of settings. Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours a Week. Monday–Friday Occasional weekends and some evenings throughout the year. Duties & Responsibilities: The Director has primary responsibility for both the strategic direction and execution of quality, timely, and relevant marketing communications campaigns that raise awareness of and support for the mission of the NLM. The Director oversees all aspects of the marketing communications program: digital strategy including the website, email, and social media; writing, design, and production of print and online collateral; media relations; development and management of earned revenue opportunities; and cross-promotional partnerships with select media.
The Director coordinates his or her efforts with the rest of the Museum staff to ensure fully integrated communications; develops all messaging and oversees usage of the NLM brand; collaborates on all fundraising initiatives; promotes and markets all programs and fundraising initiatives; and supports the work of the Marketing Committee of the Board. As part of a small and team-oriented nonprofit, all staff are required to assist with organization-wide duties and at major events, so some weekend and evening work is required.
