During the mayoral election, the Cultural Alliance prioritized elevating the Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy to a full department and highlighted the importance of cabinet-level appointment. SPACE LINE BAI Alumni Spotlight Avery Ingram (BAI' 23) Photo of Avery Ingram Avery Ingram was a Bloomberg Arts intern during the summer of 2023 with FamFrequencey Productions. Through this experience, he learned how to produce and edit documentaries. He also held a temporary leadership role in programming and teaching. Now, Avery is about to graduate high school and begin his freshman year at Rowan University studying Music Education. Avery seeks to use the experience gained from this internship to give back to his community. Through the BAI experience, Avery fostered a greater connection with artists in the Philadelphia area. he is grateful for the lessons learned and all who have helped in shaping his future. Sheikh Sharaf- Uddin (BAI' 23) Image of Sheikh Sharaf- Uddin Sheikh Sharaf-Uddin was a Bloomberg Arts intern during the summer of 2023. during the Bloomsberg Arts Internship, he grew a deeper appreciation for the arts and for artists all over the world. Sheikh learned many life skills through this program, such as public speaking, self-advocacy, and networking. As a BAI intern at Aftrt School All-Stars, a non-profit organization where teens are provided with many different enrichment programs to grow their skills in STEAM, Sheikh learned about preparing and leading school lessons. This experience taught him about the value of organization and planning, two critical skills used by educators. At this time, Sheikh has secured a full scholarship to Temple University but is also considering additional opportunities before making a final decision. He is thankful for the knowledge and experience gained from the Bloomsberg Arts Internship. SPACE LINE Volunteer Opportunity Music Education nonprofit, Keep Music Alive, is seeking volunteers for their Musical Instrument Petting Zoo program. It features acoustic and electric guitars, and ukuleles. keyboards and dozens of different types of percussion instruments for kids to interact with. The experience is often referred to as a "Please Touch Museum for musical instruments!" Events are held on weekdays and weekends with locations including schools, libraries, community festivals, and partner events with other nonprofits. Adren Theatre Company Professional Apprentice: Adren is seeking Arden Arden Professional Apprentices (APAs) for the 2024/25 season. The Arden Professional Apprentice Program’s philosophy is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of a nonprofit regional theatre. It is designed to foster future theatre leaders. The program provides apprentices with a comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of a nonprofit regional theatre through work in EVERY aspect of operations including front of house, box office, marketing, development, artistic, education, production, stage management, finance, and general management. Apprentices will not be assigned to a specific position or department but will be immersed in ALL departments. This is not an acting program, this is not a directing program. Preservation and Outreach Internship at the Raymond Farm Center for Living Arts & Design: This internship is for anyone who wishes to gain historic preservation and community outreach experience in a small non-profit committed to arts and design. The preservation and outreach intern will work directly with our small team. The intern will manage social media, assist with events on our calendar for 2024, and as well as in documenting archival material and research during the week. The intern will also provide support for Saturday cultural programs, ranging from academic lectures and craft-based workshops to larger fundraising events. The Raymond Farm Center for Living Arts and Design (RFC) is a small non-profit organization based in New Hope, PA dedicated to promoting the legacy of architects Antonin and Noemi Raymond, who achieved international acclaim as a result of their life-long careers working in Japan.
