Lead Teacher Needed: Fishtown After School (Arts-Based) $500 Bonus Available
				PlayArts: Lead After School Program Teacher (Part-Time) 
Location: Fishtown, Philadelphia (Reliable commute required! Onsite Work) 
Compensation: $20 - $22.00/hour + $500 Hiring Stipend! (Paid time off & clearance reimbursement also included)

Join PlayArts in Northeast Philadelphia as a Lead After School Program Teacher and inspire creativity in a supportive and inclusive work environment! We provide engaging arts and enrichment programming that fosters growth and imagination after school. 
Responsibilities: 
- Lead and implement dynamic arts activities across various disciplines, including theater, music, dance, visual arts, and STEAM.
 
- Support positive classroom management and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment for all children.
 
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to plan and execute engaging programming.
 
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all participants during program hours.
 
 
Schedule: 
- Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM (through June 2026).
 
- Weekly team meetings on Mondays, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM.
 
- Guaranteed 20-25 hours per week.
 
- Additional hours may be available for camp programming during school breaks and summer.
 
- MUST be able to reliably commute to/from our Fishtown location.
 
 
Qualifications & Requirements: 
- 
Experience: 2+ years (2,500 hours) of prior childcare experience required. This can include nannying, babysitting, tutoring, coaching, or camp counseling – meeting OCDEL mandates for our teachers.
 
- 
Education: BA in Education or a related field is preferred. An Associate's degree or relevant experience is also considered.
 
- Without an education-related degree, the following OCDEL-mandated credits and experience are required:
- (1) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate AND 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
 
- (2) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in § 3270.31(c) (relating to age and training).
 
- (3) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field AND 1 year of experience with children.
 
- (4) A high school diploma or a general education development certificate AND completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in § 3270.31(c).
 
- (5) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate AND 2 years experience with children (babysitting, camp counseling) or teaching experience.
 
 
 
- Strong classroom management skills are essential.
 
 
Must obtain NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry) clearance and all other required state/federal clearances and background checks prior to the start date.
