Patron Services AssistantJob title: Patron Services Assistant Reports to: Associate Director, Patron Experience Department: Digital Strategy & Innovation Status: Part-time; Non-Exempt; Seasonal: September 2025 through May 2026 with option to continue Fall 2026 The Patron Services Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and customer service support for Curtis Patron Services at Curtis Institute of Music. Areas of focus include ticketing, customer service and communications, on site event management, and administrative duties as assigned. Working closely with and taking direction from the Associate Director, Patron Experience, this position will help elevate the patron experience for all Philadelphia-based Curtis performance events. The role will split time between administrative duties during regular office hours and front of house event support during performance events as assigned. The Patron Services Assistant will help to coordinate patron check-in and ticket scanning during performance events to ensure an enjoyable experience for both patrons and the performers. During the performance event, this role will complete additional administrative duties either related to the current event or upcoming events. This position will have interactions with all patrons of Curtis including major donors, board members, subscribers, students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and other community members and will be expected to treat each patron as a valued and respected guest. Essential Functions Key Responsibilities: Ticketing and data entry related to subscriptions and event reservations including but not limited to creating reservations, seating, reconciling, and reporting. Patron communications including answering phone calls, e-mail, and in-person interactions. Provide support for Associate Director, Patron Experience at the majority of our mainstage events throughout the season and recitals as needed Communicate effectively with all patrons including but not limited to students, faculty, staff, board members, major donors, subscribers, and other community members. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Curtis welcomes applications from people with a wide variety of experience and backgrounds, who are eager to work hard, learn, and contribute. Candidates should be able to demonstrate: Previous experience working in a box office in an entertainment, attraction, or performing arts organization highly preferred. A passion for and working knowledge of classical music preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional patron service and retention abilities. Schedule flexibility to work a mix of set weekly hours and additional hours as needed based on the performance schedule. Ten (10) hours weekly guaranteed, up to 20 hours or more weekly when the performance schedule is very busy in the Spring semester. Position is limited to no more than 29.5 hours of work per week on average. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Position is located on the Curtis Institute of Music campus in Philadelphia and an in-person work schedule is required. Schedule flexibility is required to work a mix of set weekly hours and additional hours as needed based on the performance schedule. Ten (10) hours weekly guaranteed, up to 20 hours or more weekly when the performance schedule is very busy in the Spring semester. Position is limited to no more than 29.5 hours of work per week on average. Night and/or weekend work will be required occasionally for performances and events. Exertional requirements are routine office environment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire.
