Gallery Learning AssistantPosition Summary The Delaware Art Museum seeks a Gallery Learning Assistant to join the Art & Learning Department. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing gallery-based public programs and interpretive content that deepen visitor engagement with the Museum’s exhibitions and collections. Working collaboratively across departments, the Gallery Learning Assistant will design inclusive and enriching experiences for diverse audiences in alignment with DelArt’s educational goals. Reporting to the Manager of Learning and Interpretation, this position is part of the Education team, which also includes the School and Tour Coordinator, Art Bridges Fellow, and an annual cohort of 5–6 contracted Museum Educators. This is a part-time grant funded position ($17/hour; 25 hours/week) through 2029. About the Museum For more than a century, the Delaware Art Museum has been a cornerstone of artistic and cultural life in the region. Founded in 1912 to honor illustrator and Wilmington native Howard Pyle, the Museum now houses more than 13,000 works of art, including American illustration, British Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces—the most comprehensive collection outside the U.K.—and a growing portfolio of contemporary art. Today, DelArt is a dynamic, community-centered museum committed to inspiring creativity, fostering connection, and expanding access to the arts across all three counties of Delaware. With national recognized leadership in the mid-sized museum space and deep roots in the state’s cultural ecosystem, DelArt is entering an exciting phase of growth focused on visitor engagement, sustainability, and learning.
