Youth Art Program CoordinatorEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree required; MFA, MA in Arts Education, or MS in Arts Administration preferred. 3+ years’ administrative/managerial experience. 3+ years’ youth arts education or related experience. Management and/or supervisory experience preferred. Budget/cost management experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Coordination: Assist Executive Director with researching, developing, planning, coordinating and supervising Wayne Art Center’s youth art educational programs and activities which include fall, winter and spring sessions, summer art camp and outreach programs. Assist Executive Director and staff with recruiting, scheduling and overseeing instructors, interns and volunteers for youth programs. Oversee teachers’ curriculums and lesson plan submissions for youth programs. Compile required teacher and vendor clearances and ensure they are current. Ensure interns and volunteers are adequately trained and recognized for their efforts. Coordinate youth program logistics and communicate with appropriate staff regarding schedules, studio set-up requirements, etc. Process, monitor and manage class registration system and student enrollment. Oversee class rosters, medical forms and other pertinent records related to youth classes, workshops, outreach programs and event attendance. Monitor approved budget for youth programs in concert with the Executive Director. Coordinate art and equipment supply orders, manage inventory and event attendance. Coordinate and present annual youth/teen art exhibition. Coordinate special youth programs such as family workshops, scout troops, field trips, private lessons. Serve as site supervisor for youth programs during program hours. Program Marketing and Communications: With Executive Director and staff, promote youth programs throughout the year. Plan, coordinate and attend community events to where Wayne Art Center is represented. Provide detailed schedules and descriptions of youth programs for digital and graphic design staff to promote via social media and mailings. Draft and place press releases, feature articles, and prepare advertising. Work with staff to design and implement graphic marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, banners, lawn signs, social media and digital communications. Work with digital designer to update website and execute weekly e-communications. Evaluate programs, analyze data and prepare activity reports and statistics for management. Utilize appropriate survey responses for marketing purposes. Provide statistical information for grant proposals and reports as required. Cultivate and foster connections with donors to secure reliable support for youth programs. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Excellent problem-solving skills, flexibility, creative thinking. An aptitude for technology and ability to learn other platforms as needed. Strong project management skills, highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Self-directed style, ability to work independently, proactively and efficiently with only moderate direction or supervision. Effectively follows through on assignments. Flexible, open to input and sudden changes, comfortable with the unexpected. Excellent customer service ethic and high expectations for quality. Ability to promote teamwork and collaboration. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, Teams and Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, database management experience a plus. Familiarity with drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, fiber, jewelry fabrication, and mixed-media processes. Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Familiarity with Main Line community and reside within proximity to Wayne Art Center. Valid driver’s license. Ability to maneuver or lift 35 pounds.

The Youth Art Program Coordinater is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating Wayne Art Center’s high-quality, arts educational programs for children and teens. Serving as a passionate advocate of the arts, the Youth Program Coordinator carries out age-appropriate programs that provide arts enrichment, foster creativity and self-expression, and ignite a life-long love of art for youth in our community. |
