This position offers meaningful creative responsibility, mentorship, and portfolio-worthy experience while supporting a growing community-based vocal ensemble. The Audio Engineer plays a critical role in shaping the sound of Noteworthy Philadelphia’s recorded content, working closely with artistic and production leadership to bring vocal performances to life. While this role is rooted in audio engineering, it is also highly collaborative and creative, sitting at the intersection of music direction, performance, and visual storytelling.
About the Role The Audio Engineer (Vocal Production & Mixing) is responsible for editing, assembling, and polishing multitrack vocal recordings for Noteworthy Philadelphia’s music videos and recorded projects. You will work closely with the Executive Director, Music Program Associate(s), Videographer, and singers to ensure that audio quality supports both musical excellence and visual storytelling. This role focuses on a cappella vocal production rather than commercial studio release work. Final audio deliverables are intended for music videos and digital content, not for streaming or label distribution, though the work should be clean, musical, and video-ready.

Leadership & Growth As part of the executive board, the Audio Engineer (Vocal Production & Mixing) will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, contribute to high-level artistic and production decisions, and grow into a director-level or lead production role over time as a key creative partner within Noteworthy Philadelphia’s production ecosystem. We are a young adult performing arts group that values creativity, leadership development, and collaboration. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in artistic and technical leadership while working alongside experienced professionals in performance, music direction, and creative production.
Additional Details
Optional Group Involvement: Audio Engineers who are also singers and based in the local Greater Philadelphia area are encouraged to audition and engage as performing members of the ensemble. While not required, deeper artistic involvement is welcomed for those interested in contributing both technically and musically
Trial Period An initial project-based trial period will allow both parties to confirm fit, workflow, and expectations before establishing an ongoing collaboration.
About Noteworthy Philadelphia Noteworthy Philadelphia is a community-based music enrichment nonprofit dedicated to using music to brighten lives, foster connections, and build community. Our members are talented vocalists in their 20s and 30s, creating polished, engaging performances and music videos that blend strong musicianship with intentional storytelling.
