Operational Services Aide

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The basic function of this position supports the set-up and breakdown need for indoor and outdoor events, conference room turnovers and office moves. The Operational Services Aide will also assist with janitorial services and miscellaneous jobs when event set up is not required; complete assigned work order requests, move office furniture and deliver supplies. The Operational Services Aide will assist in the maintenance and overall cleanliness of all facilities at Winterthur while providing a safe environment for guests and staff.

Compensation: 17.50 per hour

Work Schedule: 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  Monday – Friday, rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for event and meeting setup which includes unloading trucks/carts, arranging tables, chairs, etc.
  2. Responsible for returning the space to its original state by removing trash, vacuuming, and cleaning spills to facilitate quick turnover for the next event or meeting.
  3. Successfully complete assigned work order requests, such as assembling office furniture, and assisting with office moves.
  4. Janitorial Services - maintain general indoor appearance of the building, collect trash from offices, restrooms and lobbies, vacuum and perform carpet cleaning services, mop floors (restrooms, stairwells, lobbies), dusting and wiping furniture and vents, operate a vacuum, shampooer, and buffer, mix and use cleaning solutions safely and store them in a secure area.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Experience: 2-year janitorial or delivery experience with a HS diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Experience: Experience in the Hospitality or Cultural Institution industries.

Knowledge/Skills:

  1. Valid driver’s license.
  2. Ability to safely operate full-size pickup trucks and box trucks.
  3. Experience with basic hand tools.
  4. Knowledge of housekeeping operational procedures.
  5. A collaborative team player with the ability to pivot and adapt to meet the needs of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  1. Duties will involve bending, stretching, reaching and moving at a fast pace
  2. Able to lift 65 lbs. including loading and unloading tables, chairs, and trash receptacles.
  3. Able to climb up to 9 flights of stairs
  4. Able to walk and stand for extended period; 8 hours or more.
  5. Position requires indoor and outdoor work, weather permitting.
