Continuing Education Adjunct Faculty (CAD for Textiles)

Moore College of Art & Design’s Continuing Education department seeks adjunct faculty to teach CAD for Textiles for adult learners on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. This position runs from September 30th, 2019 through December 5th, 2019.

 

Course Description: This course focuses on textile structures and the production of surface designs, materials and techniques to build a strong foundation for contemporary practice in fibers. Students explore methods for research, ideation and problem- solving through discussion, drawing, digital software and material investigations. Prerequisite: CAD for Apparel.

 

Instructors will work closely with Continuing Education staff, delivering an art-based curriculum in their area of expertise in a timely and organized manner. Instructors inspire and guide students in creating individual and collaborative works of art. Students of this program may enroll in individual courses according to their interests or complete eight required courses in one field of study to earn the certificate.

 

Successful candidates for this position are creative, organized individuals. They are dedicated to their craft and have demonstrated ability as incredible instructors with a history of engaging students. Applicants for this position will have an undergraduate, graduate, teaching certification, and/or equivalent professional experience in one of the listed areas of study.

 

Requirements:

  • A terminal degree or equivalent combination of education and professional/artistic experience, some adult or college-level teaching experience, and evidence of professional activity is required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and use the Moodle learning platform on a regular basis
  • Punctuality and dependability for class schedules is necessary
  • Willingness to be flexible with class teaching schedules
  • Knowledge of and ability to teach students about industry standards within your specialization
Education Level: 
A terminal degree or equivalent combination of education and professional/artistic experience, college-level teaching experience, and evidence of professional activity is required.
