The Wilma Theater seeks someone with strong attention to detail, ability to juggle tasks, an interest in fundraising, and a sense of curiosity to serve as Development Associate.

The Wilma Theater creates living, adventurous art, presenting bold, original, well-crafted, thought-provoking productions that represent a range of voices, viewpoints, and styles. Our FY22 operating budget is $4.2M and we seek to grow contributed revenue substantially over the next three years.

The Development Associate works with the Development Director and the Managing Director in support of the Wilma’s fundraising activities and overall organizational growth.   In support of the Managing Director, they will schedule meetings, manage communications, and prepare materials for key donors, and prospects; additionally, they will provide administrative support for the Managing Director in working with the Board.  This person will also support the work we do in Tessitura, our database, by managing donor information, running reports and lists, and managing our online donation forms.  Additionally, this person will manage Development Department logistics and paperwork, including budgets, donor materials, and development pages of our website.  They will assist the Institutional Giving Manager by helping to prepare materials, including budgets, proofreading applications and other submissions, and general assistance with material prep.  They will also assist with special projects as assigned.

The Development Associate will contribute meaningfully to the organizational culture of the Wilma and will advocate to advance our values on an organizational, local, and national scale. This person will take part in cross-departmental work, company-wide EDI work and anti-bias training as we further our commitment to being an inclusive, anti-racist organization.

The ideal candidate has: the ability to juggle multiple projects; experience with data processing and comfort with numbers; strong attention to detail; an aptitude for collaboration; and strong communications skills.  The Development Consultant should be comfortable interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in person and virtually; have a strong yet flexible approach to problem-solving; and an interest in learning about the many facets of non-profit fundraising. They should efficiently manage current processes, while imagining and implementing new approaches to our work. Passion for theater preferred, but not necessary.
