Development Intern

The Fabric Workshop and Museum

The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) seeks a Development Intern interested in fundraising, writing, database management, event management and Philadelphia's arts and cultural community. Interns will have the opportunity to work with the Development team on current and future projects, while learning about the overall structure and activities of a contemporary art museum.

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Intern will support FWM’s fundraising program. Based on the Museum’s need and the Intern’s skills and interests, s/he will learn the fundamentals of development, including grant writing, gift processing, prospect research, event management, donor cultivation and stewardship, and membership.

Excellent writing skills and organizational ability are required. Knowledge of art history and an interest in contemporary art are helpful, as in an interest in a career in fundraising, non-profit management or arts administration.

Interns volunteer their time to gain first-hand experience in the programming and administration of a contemporary art museum and collaborative workshop. They may be college or graduate/post-graduate students; we also welcome recent graduates who are looking to establish a career path and professionals who are interested in changing careers.

Interns are required to commit 10 hours minimum per week. This is not a paid position.
