Graphic Designer

KieranTimberlake is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our office. Our design practice includes over 100 professionals with diverse backgrounds and abilities and is recognized worldwide. With equal emphasis on research, communications, and the built environment, our projects include the programming, planning, and design of new structures as well as the transformation of existing buildings. We have special expertise in education, government, arts and culture, civic, and residential projects, but common to all our work is the principle that each project begins with a question and continues its development within a culture of inquiry. By ensuring that design results from deep investigation into site, program, climate, ecology, resources, and environment, our interdisciplinary process inspires creativity and fosters a culture of sharing ideas, knowledge, and technique. The end result is artfully integrated, high quality structures that serve our clients' needs and push the practice of architecture forward.

The Graphic Designer is an essential resource for the firm and works within the communications team and closely with firm leadership. This role is integral to attracting new clients, raising awareness of the firm’s work, and positioning the firm to engage in critical dialogue with the architecture industry at large. The Graphic Designer will collaborate with architects and researchers on a variety of projects for business proposals, public relations events, exhibitions, and general print and web marketing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring firm compliance with graphic standards and branding
  • Developing illustrations to communicate architectural schemes and concepts
  • Compiling PowerPoint presentations for interviews and speaking engagements
  • Designing architectural project portfolios and other marketing collateral
  • Creating images, animations, and video for lectures, websites, and social media accounts
  • Outsourcing and managing print production with vendors

The ideal candidate is a creative, curious, and self-motivated individual with a deep interest in architecture. The graphic designer should be flexible and able to work effectively and collaboratively toward deadlines. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, architecture, or other related field in addition to 1-3 years prior work experience.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Exquisite attention to detail with print layout and typography
  • Love of template design for InDesign, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work iteratively throughout a project and respond to feedback
  • Strong sketching, drawing, and prototyping skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Capacity to teach graphic skills to others

Although not required, additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in 3D modeling, motion graphics, video and sound editing, website design and coding.
