Super Star Admin for Bustling Music School

Meridee Winters School of Music

We need a superstar admin to help at our creative, dynamic school!

We are seeking someone with an eye for detail and a passion for music and/or education to help manage the left-brained "backstage" operations of our unique school. Experienced individuals are encouraged to apply, and those returning to the workforce are welcomed. The hours and mission of this job are a great match for a parent returning to the workforce or someone looking for a part-time position in a place that makes a difference.

The Meridee Winters School of Music, a Main Line educational presence for the past 25 years, is looking for an efficient, enthusiastic and organized individual to assist us as our school and method continue to grow. A passion for education and/or music is essential. (Musical ability not required but certainly welcomed!)

About the role: you would be behind the scenes in a dynamic educational setting, working with and supporting other team members: the office team, the teacher team or leadership teams. Projects may include signup calls, scheduling, assembling promotional material, reviewing teacher resumes, taking notes/organizing/filing and occasional quirky tasks like "test out the bubble machine" or "buy a new Dumbledore wig." Someone who enjoys or has experience in phone communication, sales or performance is ideal. (Someone who would enjoy speaking with parents about our unique school, and getting them excited about starting their musical journey.) Someone who bounces well from task to task or enjoys diving into new projects is also a great fit.

If you are the type who can enthusiastically communicate, enjoys making lists, and multitasks like post-note-wielding pro, then you're our kind of person - read on!

This role would be 20-30 hours per week. (4-5 hours per day, M-F. Exact hours and schedule are negotiable, and can be arranged upon hiring). For vacations, we generally match the school year calendar for winter break, Thanksgiving, etc. with some flex in the summer for family vacations and travel.

*Note: We posted a similar last winter. That was filled, but if you applied to that, you are welcome and encouraged to reapply for this role.

About us:

Meridee and her talented community of teachers are passionate advocates of creativity. Founded in 1990, the school's groundbreaking curriculum is one of a kind in that it teaches creativity from the start - while other methods teach by rote/recall/reading only. Check us out at for more information on the school!

We also put on several fun and inspiring performances each year: our whimsical Halloween show, our exclusive Songwriters Showcase, and our year end Woodstock-style musical festival--the YES!

What we are looking for:
-Someone who is good at researching/gathering details for assignments, jumping into new things, and following through to completion.
-A warm, friendly demeanor, especially on the phone
-The ability to work well as a team.
-A passion for music, creativity and/or education
-Someone who is familiar with current technology (smart phones, tablets, printer/scanners, etc.), and has the ability to learn new technology and programs
-The ability to create spreadsheets, tables, etc. (and familiarity with Microsoft Office and excel)
-Someone with an outgoing personality who likes to organize, connect and talk on the phone.
-A perfectionist with a keen attention to detail and high standards (someone who likes keeping checklists).
-Someone who wants a job that has meaning and makes a difference.

If this checklist sounds energizing to you, then you may be a good match for our school!
