Become a Master at Mailmerge

Mass mailings are usually associated with junk mail and are generally ignored. The modern answer is Mail Merge.
Mail Merge saves enormous amounts of personalizing time by eliminating the need to type in each individual name and address on every letter you're sending out. In this full day course you will learn:
 
•How to create a database in Word, Excel and Access
•To import data bases from other programs
•How to create a Mail Merge document, envelope, labels, catalogues and flyers
•Formatting and editing merged documents
•Updating, sorting and filtering lists

Excel Intermediate

Students who have a basic understanding of spreadsheets will learn how to perform more advanced formulas and functions, use the sorting and filtering features, manage worksheets, and apply more formatting.

Learn how to use MS Access to create a more sophisticated database. Students will learn how to design tables and define data type and field properties to manage data storage.

This instructor led class will teach you how to create forms for easy data input, more complex queries and reports which can be modified by the user.  

Access Introduction

Learn how to use MS Access to create a database, enter and update individual records and create reports based on specific criteria.

This instructor led class will teach you how to create a basic database to track client, donor or event information using hands-on examples.

The workshop facilitators, Andrea Kihlstedt of Asking Matters and Paula Peter of the Ithaca Institute have decades of experience as fundraising consultants working with large and small organizations throughout the country. They will be joined by Carol Wishcamper, an organizational development consultant and philanthropist from Maine. Together, they share a highly experiential approach to learning and an iconoclastic willingness to re-examine existing methods to bring you fresh ideas and approaches to fundraising. 
 
Fundraising is challenging and critical to organizational well-being. The workshop will explore a way to be more effective in asking for money organizations need to carry out their mission.
 
A 50% scholarship rebate (a $162.50 value) will be offered for a limited number of registrants. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to two per organization.

Informing Teaching & Learning through Assessment - Feb. 29

Are you looking to learn how to design informative and manageable approaches to assessing the effectiveness of your arts education programs? Join us for this session with Anne Harrison, Manager of Children and Youth Programs at Fleisher Art Memorial as she shares how Fleisher has worked with its teaching artists to create simple assessment strategies that inform teaching and learning on an ongoing basis.

Designed for small organizations or those new to assessment, this workshop will include extensive time for you to begin to draft an outline of an assessment plan for your arts education programs based on your goals and resources. You are encouraged to bring a team of a program staff person and a teaching artist to this working session. Each person from the organization must register separately.
