Local Theater Company Wins $20,000 at Philly Tech Week

Philadelphia, PA—On Friday, April 29, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance hosted its second annual TechniCulture event as part of Philly Tech Week. The core of the event was a competition between local cultural organizations who have been engaged since fall 2015 in the TechniCulture Innovation Residencies, evaluating solutions for their digital needs. The participating organizations (Tiny Dynamite, Christ Church Preservation Trust, and Philadelphia Young Playwrights) each presented their work for a chance to receive $20,000 in funding from The Barra Foundation.

Philadelphia, PA—On Friday, April 29, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance presents the second annual TechniCulture, an official Philly Tech Week event. This year’s event includes a keynote by Sree Sreenivasan, Chief Digital Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and spotlights the recipients of last year’s TechniCulture Residency Awards, who will present their project plans.

Philadelphia, October 7, 2015—Today the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance announced the three organizations selected for the first TechniCulture Innovation Residency Award program, the next phase of the organization’s TechniCulture initiative to encourage deeper collaborations between Philadelphia’s arts & culture community and the tech sector.

The selected organizations have been paired with technologists to help evaluate their digital needs and develop a plan to launch a project or application that will best suit their mission:

Philadelphia—On Monday, June 22, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance opened entries for the TechniCulture Innovation Residency Award program, the next phase of the organization’s TechniCulture initiative to encourage deeper collaborations between Philadelphia’s arts & culture community and the tech sector. Three organizations will be selected and awarded a residency with a technologist or digital agency, a process that will help organizations evaluate their digital needs and develop a plan to launch a project or application that will best suit their mission.
