Arts Business Institute Workshop

The Arts Business Institute presents a two-day intensive workshop on the business of art for artists and craftspeople on February 16-17, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The workshop runs concurrently with the Buyers Market of American Craft, which is the largest trade show in the country for handmade luxury goods.

Would you like to make a full-time living with your art or craft? Join us and learn from nationally-known speakers and experts who will present on the topics of Wholesaling, Pricing for Profit, Booth Design, Creative Marketing for Artists, Sales Strategies, Building Gallery Relationships and more.

Participants will tour the trade show floor where hundreds of professional artists and craftspeople are exhibiting and selling their work to retailers from across the country, and speak with exhibitors who have developed full-time businesses.

A personalized critique will be given for each participant by faculty and actual gallery buyers. See our website for more information.

ABI is a nonprofit organization providing practical business education for creative entrepreneurs.

GroundSwell – MLK Day of Service Celebration of Arts & Community

Are you passionate about creating a “greater” Greater Philly? Join the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance on MLK Day, as we partner with Arden Theatre, Art-Reach and First Person Arts to celebrate arts, culture and community, and launch GroundSwell, our new grassroots civic movement.

Come out to the Arden to hear good music, have good eats, make some good art and experience a special story slam, curated by First Person Arts, about how the arts have changed lives and bettered our communities.

You’ll even have a chance to step up to the mic and share your own story!

We’ve got some exciting plans for 2013, so come out and join the movement to create a “greater” Greater Philly for us all.
