Artist Professional Development Workshop

This workshop is geared towards all artists - break-out group discussions are based on your choice. Groups will discuss how to manage business aspects of an art career and marketing strategies - a detailed and practical overview of how to promote your work, copyright issues - overview of how to copyright your work and what rights it does and does not provide, healthcare for artists - recent changes in health care reform and what it means and will mean for artists,and starting your own business - an overview of the services provided by the NJ Business Action Center and how they can assist artists with starting a sole proprietor business in New Jersey.

This workshop will also provide copies of the “Opportunities and Resources for New Jersey Artists” publication, distributed by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, that encompasses information on fellowship grants, residency programs, Arts Inclusion registry, and arts education.
