The National Conference on Citizenship is an annual event that focuses on the state of civic engagement in America, and brings together civic leaders, educators, CEOs, and representatives from each branch of government to address issues related to our nation’s civic health.
Our theme for this year’s Conference is “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs: Exploring the link between civic engagement and employment.” The Conference will showcase and present new research and programs that explore the role all types of civic engagement play in creating thriving communities. This includes the release of the 2012 “Civic Life in America” data, announcement of the winners of the first-ever Civic Data Challenge, and highlight of a new corporate citizenship initiative called The Civic 100, which explores how businesses make a difference in communities. We will also present our annual awards and conduct a “Sworn Again American“ ceremony.
Outside of the Conference, we encourage participants to maximize their time in Philadelphia and at the National Constitution Center in particular. The Center has many compelling historic exhibits, including “Freedom Rising.“
